Hi, I’m James Buckle.  I founded Engage Pixel in the summer of 2014 to make the kind of games I enjoyed playing as a kid.  I’m currently the only developer, but I hope to expand if my games have any success.

I’ve been making games since I was 8 years old, drawing out level story boards and designs, writing bits of code on my Spectrum.   I moved onto an Amiga and, later, PC.  I’ve always enjoyed drawing pixel art and making retro-style games.

I stated working in the games industry with EA/Bullfrog in ’99 before joining The Creative Assembly, where I was Lead Tester on the Total War series.  After more than a decade of working on some fantastic PC and Console titles, I’m now going it alone as an indie developer.

Engage Pixel, fuelled by tea and dreams.
